Obituary for Anna Quigley (Howell)
Anna Howell Hart Quigley, 90, of Ecumenical Retirement Community, Harrisburg, and formerly of Lower Swatara, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg.
Anna was the daughter of the late Mary A. and George G. Howell. She was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Middletown. She was a girl scout leader for the Hemlock Girl Scout Council and also volunteered may years at the Harrisburg State Hospital. Anna server two years as President of the Seven Sorrows of the B.V.M Senior Citizens Golden Group.
Anna was the widow of the late Richard J. Quigley Sr. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, William, George L., Darvin and Robert Howell; two sisters, Grace Starner and Kathryn Bailor; a step daughter, Maryann Marnell Banks and husband Dennis, a step son, Richard J. Quigley Jr.
Anna is survived by a daughter, Judith A and husband Robert Gargiulo, a son Harry E. Hart; one step son, Frank Quigley and his wife Joan; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Quigley widow of Richard J. Quigley Jr.; twenty grandchildren and was blessed with a number of great and great-great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown PA, 17057 with the Rev. Ted Keating as celebrant. A viewing will be held at Seven Sorrows from 9:30- 10:45 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:45 AM followed by the Mass.
Burial will be at the Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg.
The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Middletown to handle the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown PA 17057 or to Hospice of Central PA 1320 Linglestown Rd. Harrisburg PA 17110.
