Obituary for James E. Davis

James Edward Davis, 71, of Middletown entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
He was born January 22, 1945 in Topeka, Kansas and is the loving son of the late Guy J. and Eva M. (Allison) Davis.
James was a retired police officer and served the city of Harrisburg for 27 years.
He was a member of the Robert Burns Lodge NO. 464 F. & A.M., Harrisburg Consistory, The Zembo Shrine of Harrisburg, Zembo Shrine Police Unit, F.O.P, Dutch Club, St. Mary's, Vehrovay, Lower Allen VFW and Sons of the Legion.
In addition to his parents James is preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Gavlick.
James is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Crumlich-Hazzard) Davis to whom he was married for 18 years; son, James E. Davis II and wife Nicole of Lewisberry; Daughters, Mindy Davis and companion Darrell of CA, Mandy Davis of Carlisle; Stepchildren, Chris Lockard and wife Trish of Mechanicsburg, Bonnie Ray of Camp Hill, Cathy Updegraff and husband Norman of Lewisberry; ten grandchildren, Kinsley, Liam, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Ty, Conner, Caitlyn, David, Dane, Dylan; sister, Jackie Hallman and husband Lou and many nieces and nephews.
A tribute to James' life will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 260 East Main St. Middletown, PA with the Rev. Britt Strohecker officiating. The Masonic Rites and Police Honors will begin at 11:30 AM. There will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the hour of service on Tuesday.
Interment will be at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
