Obituary for Robert Morningstar

Robert Morningstar
Robert L. Morningstar, 87, of James Creek, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone, PA.
He was born in Huntingdon PA on June 29, 1930 and was the son of the late Frank V. and Ethel (Cramer) Morningstar.
Robert was retired from the Federal Government where he was a Hydraulic Engineering Technician for the US Geological Survey.
He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Middletown and ultimately served as Grand Master of PA. He was also a member of Prince Edward-Spring Creek Masonic Lodge, of Middletown. He was a member of the Woodcock Valley Bible Church, James Creek.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife Bonita (Givens) Morningstar, a son, W. Victor Morningstar, two siblings, Elwood Morningstar and Ruth (Morningstar) Oberholtzer Ranck.
He is survived by his two children, Scott R. Morningstar (Sherri) of Bozeman, MT and Bonny L. Guzzo (Joel) of Middletown; six grandchildren, Christianne Walker (Clement), Jennifer Retherford (Matthew), Rebecca Guzzo (Thomas), Tara Gipson (Robert), Virgil Morningstar (Vicki), and Brooke Fagg (Zach); thirteen great-grandchildren, Ethan, Claire, Joseph, Lily, Isabella, Chloe, Cody, Reed, Raegan, Macy, Sawyer, Campbell, and Easton; sister, Louise (Morningstar) Shoop and his special friend, Janet Feathers.
A celebration of his life will be held at Matinchek Funeral Home, 260 E. Main St. Middletown PA, 17057 on Wednesday, Sept 27 at 7:00 pm with the Odd Fellows Memorial Rites to follow the funeral service. Viewing will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A second service will be held at the Woodcock Valley Bible Church, 16412 Raystown Rd., James Creek, PA 16657, on Thursday, Sept 28 at 2:00 pm. Viewing will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm.
Burial will be in the Russellville Methodist Cemetery, James Creek, PA.
