Obituary for Michael Robin Bowman

Michael Robin Bowman
Michael R. Bowman, 70, passed away October 4, 2017 at the Hershey Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in an unexpected fall.
Michael was born July 6, 1947, in Rome, NY, the youngest of six children born to Lester and Martha Bowman.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara; sons, Bryce (Sandy), Brett (Chrissy), and Bryan; daughter, Julie (Chris); grandchildren, Katie, Christian, Caleb, Micah, Isaac, Natalie, Maya, Benjamin, Allison, and Alise; brothers, Donald and George; sisters, Marie Gould and Sylvia Derr. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Bowman of Lancaster, PA.
Michael was a United States Army Veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam and attained the rank of Sergeant E-5. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Six Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 Device, Two Army Commendation Medal, and Three Overseas Bars.
Michael was a member of VFW Post 1620, Middletown where he was a Past Post Commander and a member of Lions Club, Middletown and member of numerous civic organizations.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 11 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 260 E. Main St. Middletown PA 17057.
Funeral Services will be held at the Matinchek Funeral Home on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 12:00 PM. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service. Following the services burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Hershey Seventh Day Adventist Church, 610 W. Chocolate Ave., Hershey, PA 17033.
