Obituary for Arlene Reider

Arlene M. Reider, 88, of Middletown entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 26, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 9, 1929 in Conewago Twp. and was the loving daughter of the late Wesley and Anna (Miller) Espenshade.
Arlene worked as a cook for the Londonderry Elementary School for many years. She loved to sew and was a terrific seamstress. She was well known for her cooking, baking and canning. Gardening was also something that you could find Arlene doing in her spare time.
In addition to her parents Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years William Reider; six siblings, Dorothy Rutt, Wesley Espenshade, Helene Zeager, Pauline Kraybill, Jay Espenshade, Edwin Espenshade; Aunt Esther (Wesley) Garver who also raised her.
Arlene is survived by three sons, Ross E. Reider (Nancy) of Harrisburg, Lane H. Reider (Gina) of Roseto, Roger W. Reider of Middletown; daughter, Sandra K. Pascucci (Anthony) of Middletown; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Eleanor Myers, Anna Forry, Geraldine Shelly, Fern Messick, Ira Espenshade and Miriam Judy.
A tribute to Arlene's life will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Geyer's United Methodist Church, 1605 S. Geyer's Church Rd. Middletown, PA 17057 with the Rev. Stevan Atanasoff officiating. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the hour of service on Saturday.
Interment will be at Hillsdale cemetery, Middletown.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Arlene's name to Geyer's United Methodist church or the charity of your choice.
The family has entrusted the care of the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 260 East Main St. Middletown, PA with the funeral arrangements.
