Obituary for Stephen M. Smith

Stephen M. Smith, 53, of Middletown entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 9, 1964 in Elmer, NJ and was the loving son of Elizabeth (Hackett) Smith and the late Paul Smith.
Stephen was a member of the Camp Hill United Methodist Church, Camp Hill.
He had a Masters Degree in Music Education and worked in the Middletown Area School District for over thirty years as a music teacher. He will be missed by many of his students and fellow teachers.
Stephen was a huge outdoorsman and loved to go fishing, hunting, and camping. He was a great piano player, Eagle Scout and a huge fan of Disney World. He also enjoyed going to the theater.
In addition to his mother, Stephen is survived by two sons, Justin Smith of Harrisburg, PA, Joshua Smith of Mechanicsburg, PA; daughter, Lauren Smith of Waverly, NY; brother, Douglas Smith (Patricia) of Woodstown, NJ; nieces, Stephanie and Taylor Smith; nephews, Derek and Dylan Smith; two special friends, Tamra Dann and Cynthia Wells.
A tribute to Stephen's life will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 260 East Main St. Middletown, PA with the Rev.'s Tom Willard and Jon Unlinger co-officiating. There will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service on Thursday.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
